Turn Instagram into a professional account
Before you start
Nothing. You need the account and the app, and it is free.
- Tap your profile picture, bottom right.
- Tap More to open Settings and activity.
- Below For professionals, tap Account type and tools.
- Tap Switch to professional account, and pick the category that best describes what you do.
- Choose Business, then tap Next.
Worth knowing
If your account is private, switching makes it public — and every pending follow request is accepted automatically the moment it does. Instagram offers to connect a Facebook Page at the end and calls that step optional, which it is: a professional account can be connected on its own.
