Acceptable use

1What this covers

Everything published through this, and every account connected to it. It applies to the words written for you as much as to anything you write yourself, because you are the one whose name is on the post.

2What cannot go out through this

Most of it is what you would expect, and it is listed so nobody has to guess.

• Anything unlawful, or anything encouraging somebody else to break the law.
• Abuse, harassment, threats, or anything attacking people for who they are.
• Claims about health, money or the law that you are not allowed to make. If a regulator would want to see evidence, have the evidence.
• Anything dishonest: a price that is not the price, a review you wrote about yourself, a qualification you do not hold.
• Somebody else's words, pictures or brand, where you do not have permission.
• Pretending to be another business or another person.
• Bulk messages to people who did not ask to hear from you.

3Accounts you connect

Connect only accounts you own or are allowed to act for. Connecting a client's account without their say-so puts their business at risk as well as yours.

4What happens if something breaks these rules

A person looks at it. Not an automatic strike, and not a form letter.

You are told what was found. Where it can be put right, you are told how and given the chance. Where it cannot — where something unlawful has gone out, or an account was connected that should not have been — the account is suspended and, if it comes to it, closed.

Even then, everything you have written stays available to export for 30 days.

5Telling us about something

If something published through this should not have been, say so at hello@sociant.co.uk and it is looked at the same working day.
